BCBS Vision And Generic Drug Benefits Extended Until December 31

Temporary Vision Benefits Through Davis Vision – Extended until Dec. 31

Great News! Due to the positive response they’ve experienced, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana is extending the promotion that includes vision benefits from Davis Vision. These benefits are included in several healthcare plans and have been extended through Dec. 31 – still at no extra premium cost to members!

Through Dec. 31, members can go to a Davis Vision network provider and receive routine eye exams and Davis Vision Collection contact lenses or frames for free. Most eyeglass lenses will cost only $30. You can also get a reduced price on glasses and contacts lens and lens fitting that are not in the Davis Vision Collection. Contact lens fitting and evaluation fees may apply if contact lenses are chosen outside of the Davis Vision Collection.

Taking advantage of these benefits is easy! Members simply need to make an appointment with a Davis Vision provider. You will have to give their Blue Cross ID number, their name and date of birth. Davis Vision will do the rest! If you are unable to make an appointment, contact your vision provider about accommodating walk-ins.

If you are not sure whether these temporary benefits apply to you, call Davis Vision at 1(800)247-9368. You can also click here to find a Davis Vision provider.

Copayment & Deductible Waived for Generic Drugs – Extended until Dec. 31

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana and HMO Louisiana, Inc. are pleased to announce that they are extending the offer that waives the copayment and deductible for generic drugs through Dec. 31, 2011. As a result, most fully-insured members with a 5-tier prescription drug benefit that includes a copayment will continue to receive tier 1 generic prescription drugs without any out-of-pocket costs. Please note that the same restrictions still apply.

New ID cards will not be generated. The pharmacy will process the generic drug at no cost to the member. This means that prescription drug deductibles and copayments will be waived for tier 1 generic drugs.
